Robredo expresses worry about extra-judicial killing
Vice President Leni Robredo, during a press briefing in her office on Thursday, has expressed her corned over the spate of extra-judicial killings in the country.
“Nakakakaba na baka makagawa tayo ng culture na people take the law in their own hands,” she said. “Baka maraming mga inosenteng madamay.”
Despite the allegations linking these killings to the president, she still believes that President Duterte will not condone ‘vigilante-style execution’ because he has said himself that he believes in the rule of law, which was in his inaugural speech.
Robredo also mentioned that in on the cabinet meetings, the administration has committed itself to fight against drugs. “Seryoso ang administrasyon sa kampanya nito laban sa droga,” she explained.
She also gave recognition to the Ombudsman in its fairness in its non-selective process in filing case. She even pointed out members of the Liberal Party who have also been indicted.
However, Robredo denied the alleged ‘secret meeting’ with Commission on Elections chairman, saying they did not share anything malicious, but only a simple greeting at the dinner party that they both attended. | ASCS - FNPH
