Among the latest to surrender to authorities was a former city mayor of Sagay, Negros Occidental, Joseph Gerard Marañon.
Marañon has surrendered to the police and has vowed to stop using drugs, as reported by the Visayan Daily Star.
Provincial police chief Senior Superintendent William Señoron said that the former public official “is willing to undergo rehabilitation.”
Marañon was with his friend in surrendering to the police, who were surprised upon his declaration.
