Erap promises justice for Quiapo road rage victim
Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada vowed to bring justice for the victim of the road rage incident in Quiapo last Monday night.

Estrada said that he has already directed the Manila Police District (MPD) to capture the suspect, Vhon Tato who is an army reservist, who fatally shot the biker Mark Vincent Geralde after their traffic altercation.

“I have directed the MPD to see to it that the culprit is captured and brought to court to face charges. To the family of Mr. Geralde, our condolence. I assure you that justice will be given,” the mayor said.

He also assured assistance to the 18-year old student who was hit by a stray bullet during the incident. Rocel Bondoc was hit in the spinal cord by a stray bullet from Tanto’s gun.

Currently, she is admitted and is in a critical condition at an intensive care unit of the Mary Chiles Hospital.
Estrada said that he personally knows Bondoc. He recommended her admission to the city-run Universidad de Manila.

“Rocel is one of our city scholars, a bright student and has a very bright future ahead. It pains me to see her in the hospital, wounded,” he said. He promised to help Bondoc get back on track with her studies. | ASCS
