DA and BFAR offer P10M prize for cleanest coastal community
A contest across the country will be set by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol. The objective is to hunt down the nation's cleanest coastal area, with the victors getting P10 million and other Presidential honors.
The Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will be guided by the accompanying criteria while picking the cleanest waterfront group: nonappearance of unlawful angling; recognition of shut season; all around secured marine asylum; rubbish free seaside waters; and, supported mangrove insurance and recovery program.
The quest for the cleanest coastal community will run as an inseparable unit with an across the nation campaign against illicit fishing and a strict execution of a three-month closed season when the diverse types of fish bring forth.
"The most critical preparation for climate change is in the zone of water preservation and administration," Piñol said.
The agri secretary included that administration will likewise give subsidizing and bolster the way of life and generation of high value fish species, for example, Lapu-lapu and Maya-maya and in addition other commercial species, for example, Bangus and Tilapia.
He said the generation of shrimps, crabs, and other marine items will likewise be strengthened.
