On Thursday, June 30, the nation will introduce its new head of state: Rodrigo Duterte, the sixteenth President of the Philippines. 

Duterte, who was the leader of Davao City for over two decades, secured an avalanche triumph in the May elections. He kept running on a hostile to wrongdoing stage, promising to control illegal drugs and defilement, and rose to control in spite of the debates that have dogged him.
