President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said there will be a moment of retribution with dread group Abu Sayyaf.

Talking before businessmen in Davao City, Duterte said he simply needs time to destroy the group.

"I can't do it just promptly. There are things that I require which we don't have now. In any case, there will be a period, there will be a retribution. What's more, when it comes, I will simply say 'Surrender unequivocally. Release all prisoners, hostages or we fight,'" Duterte said.

Duterte said he will just stand up to the issue on the off chance that he gets a "firm responsibility" from Moro bunches in continuous peace endeavors that they have "quiet expectations."

"I need to have a firm duty from our sibling Moro about the congruity of the discussions."

"When I get that certification na talagang serene ang aims ninyo and you are not ensuring terrorists… And when I have it in my grasp, I'll be prepared to go up against."

A week ago, the Abu Sayyaf guillotined one of its prisoners, Robert Hall, after the administration neglected to give the ₱300 million payment for each of the four Samal Island hostages — Canadians John Ridsdel and Hall, Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad, and Filipina Marites Flor — who were stole in September 2015 from a resort in Samal Island.
