Ex-LP Cebu mayoral bet caught on cam giving out envelopes with cash

A mayoral hopeful in Cebu City is likewise in high temp water for circulating envelopes containing money to barangay authorities. 

Mike Rama who is at present serving as leader of Cebu City. Before his mayoral term, he has additionally served as vice chairman of Cebu City from 2001 to 2010. He is likewise campaigning for his third term in office as mayor of Cebu City.

Rama's Political parties:
BO-PK (1992–2011)
Liberal (2010–2012)
UNA (2012–present)

According to a report, Rama is giving each barangay officials Php15,000 while Php9000 for councilors.


Rama's rival former Cebu City Tomas Osmena plans to file charges against him. He told reporters "How can you give money to barangay officials when that is not a necessary function of the government."


Rama disputed that the cash incentive is for barangay officials who do not receive salary but only honorarium. He also added that he is ready to face the charges (should there be any).
