Man Tries to Smuggle Over Half Million Pesos Worth of Memory Cards

• The said electronic merchandise would amount to nearly 100,000 Yuan.

An unidentified man was discovered attempting to carry mobile phone memory cards from Hong Kong to Shenzen, China on February 26, 2016. The cards—more than 9,000 of them—were taped around the man's legs, the South China Morning Post reports. The aggregate expense of the cards would sum to almost 100,000 Yuan or about PhP719,000. The man supposedly even attempted to pay off traditions authorities, offering them 50,000 Yuan (practically PhP360,000) for his discharge. 

The Morning Post clarified that pirating electronic merchandise from Hong Kong to Mainland China was a typical event as gadgets are moderately less expensive in Hong Kong, which is an obligation free port where deals duties are not exacted on such items. This, maybe, is making dealers somewhat over-excited. Hours before the man's capture, Shenzen traditions authorities secured an elderly lady who likewise attempted to sneak in memory cards taped around her legs and waist.
