Just when you thought you already knew how appalling our LRT can become, wait until you watch this video from a particular netizen, Kurt Ebol.

Tuesday, 22nd of March - A video went viral showing passengers inside the LRT at Central Terminal slamming the door of the hot stalled train as they got caught up. The train, on the other hand, is again begging its operators to have itself be repaired (or better yet be replaced) for experiencing another mechanical error that lead it to a complete stop. With its emergency button that's supposed to help its passengers escape when circumstance demand them to, the nearly-steamed people inside the scorching train were too unfortunate to be stuck and get suffocated as the said button was out of order. To top it all off, the dying train allegedly has got a non-functioning aircon at that time. How pathetic is that?

The trains' personnel were also seen in the 3:13-minute clip trying to resolve the matter but when some of the passengers tried to open the door with hopes to quickly make their fellows inside get out, one of the officers scolded them saying "Ano'ng ginagawa ninyo?" but immediately lay low when noticed the vast majority of passengers were videoing the incident.

To date, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) management did not release any statement yet anent this case but its spokesperson, Atty. Hernando Cabrera Jr. ,said “We have asked them ( Light Railway Maintenance Corporation (LRMC) - operator of LRT-1 ) to explain, and our monitoring team is conducting our own investigation,” as reported by Inquirer.

When do you think is this terrible issue that is getting on our nerves for the longest time going to conclude? Unless the next administration will not put much consideration and priority to the burdened mass commuters, we could hope that this will turn a new leaf after the May elections. Meanwhile, for now, all we can do is to anticipate and brave the next inconvenience this train is sure to cause us and pray for the coming of a better leader of this country that will pave the way in giving us the train transportation that we, especially the taxpayers, truly deserve.
