Amidst lessening support for the senator, Duterte said he will remain by Cayetano.
"Kasama ko siya (I am with him). I won't abandon him," he said.

During an open social affair in Valenzuela City soon thereafter, Duterte presented Cayetano as "the most tolerable individual to have entered governmental issues" to cheers from the group of onlookers.
