Direk Wenn Deramas Dies at 49

Filipino film and TV blockbuster director Wenn Deramas has passed away at 49 after a heart attack, said on-screen character and humorist Vice Ganda on Twitter and as confirmed by his friend June Rufino on ANC Monday morning, February 29, 2016. 

Deramas' companion, June Rufino, told ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) that he went to the hospital at 2am early Monday, February 29 to see her sister, and later, couldn't be restored. 

Rufino told radio dzMM, "When he arrived there, biglang tumirik din ang mata niya. Sixty-six seconds lang ang reviving period, wala talaga."

Direk Wenn almost had a heart attack two years ago, and he underwent an angioplasty last year.

Rufino said the director had completely recuperated after his angioplasty so his demise came as an amazement.

The remains of Direk Wenn will be conveyed to Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta Avenue today.
