DELEGATES of the Philippines to the Rio 2016 summer olympics arrived today, August 6 (Philippine time), at the Maracaña Stadium in their national costume during the opening ceremony at the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Standing tall with their Barong, the Filipinos were definitely dressed to kill.

The Filipino athletes will wear the short-sleeved barongs over a thermal undershirt during the ceremonial parade of athletes.

Immediately, the Pinoys made heads turn.

In a report, delegates from other countries kept asking about their “barong,” telling the Filipinos, from the officials to the athletes, how pleasing they were. One asked where he could get one.

Table tennis star Ian Lariba, the country's flag bearer in the opening ceremony, posted a selfie on her Instagram of the Filipino Olympians proudly wearing the short-sleeved barong.

Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, competing in her second Olympics, also posted a picture of the Philippine athletes, this time in a "wacky" pose.

Other Philippine Olympians are taekwondo jin Kristine Alora, boxers Rogen Ladon and Charly Suarez, long jumper Marestella Torres, and swimmers Jessie Lacuna and Jasmine Alkhaldi, track athletes Eric Cray and Mary Joy Tabal. AJRSP
